In 2019, the admission work of UTSEUS for study in France went on successfully from April 28 to May 4th. The selection is for junior and senior students of UTSEUS. The entrance interview is organized by French partner schools, based on the accumulated GPA and French comprehensive level of the professional courses in the past three years of study. The interview mainly examines students’ understanding of their major, their plans about the future engineering career and their preparations for studying in France. The selected students will go to the three partner schools in France to continue their master’s studies in September this year.

During the selection, French Universities of Technology (UTC-University of Technology of Compiegne, UTT-University of Technology of Troyes, UTBM-University of Technology of Belfort-Monbéliard), the four directors from Nice Polytechnic and UTSEUS Dean Liu Wanyu, Lei Zuosheng and Xu Tao all participated in the whole process. A total of 167 students were enrolled this year. After three consecutive days and two rounds of interviews, 149 students were finally eligible to continue their studies in France. Among them, 52 students were admitted to UTC, 34 to UTT, 51 to UTBM and 12 to Nice Polytechnic University.

Mrs. Chen Baoxia and Niu Niu working in department of Overseas Student Services in UTC and UTBM also came to Shanghai this time to meet with the junior students who are going to France. They were interviewed by the media department from UTSEUS to introduce their main work, how to provide relevant services and help to Chinese students, and on issues that are of general concern to students, such as “what are the most frequently encountered problems when they first arrive in France and how to deal with them”.  The advices proposed by the two teachers will help students who are going to France to adapt to the new environment more quickly.

On the afternoon of May 4th, the Chinese and French working groups also discussed the promotion of the International Master Program in 2019, decided the specific curriculum list of the project and discussed the financial mode in detail. The two parties will submit the application materials in May 29th, 2019, to the Joint Committee of UTSEUS.
